The mission of In Jacob’s Shoes is to provide new and gently used shoes, school supplies, backpacks and athletic gear for local children in need. Grants are also awarded for camp, aftercare, sports and enrichment programs.

The Jacob S. Zweig Foundation, Inc. d/b/a In Jacob’s Shoes was formed in honor of the life of Jacob Samuel Zweig who was tragically killed at the age of seventeen on November 15, 2008. In his short life, Jacob touched and inspired so many people. His friendships spanned the globe.

In Jacob’s Shoes honors the love and encouragement Jacob gave to all who knew him. We will strive to continue Jacob’s way of making a difference in the lives of others. Jacob’s smile, charisma, laughter, hugs and huge heart will never be forgotten. Jacob’s innate and selfless gift of helping and giving to others will live on In Jacob’s Shoes.

There are several great volunteer opportunities for teens, adults and groups:
1) Hold a collection drive – collect new and gently used shoes, backpacks, school supplies, shoe laces or athletic gear (cleats, mitts, bats, balls, etc.) We accept all sizes and types of shoes as long as they are in wearable condition. A complete wish list is available on our website. https://www.injacobsshoes.org/wishlist.htm
2) Help sort, clean and pack shoes for distribution. Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
3) Help distribute shoes at one of our “Back-To-School” shoe distribution events.
