The mission of Laurel House is to provide safe haven for abused women and their children, to raise public awareness about domestic violence and to advocate for social change against domestic violence.

Over the past 31 years, our programs have expanded to include many other needed services and supports. Today, in addition to our 24-hour hotline and shelter, Laurel House offers transitional housing, medical advocacy, legal advocacy, community counseling and support groups, children’s programs, support to law enforcement, and expanded community education and prevention efforts.  Several years ago, Laurel House opened Marian’s Attic, an “upscale resale” thrift shop in King of Prussia. The shop helps raise needed funds to support our shelter and counseling programs, while also helping raise awareness about domestic abuse.

Your mitzvah project or community service project with Laurel House helps abused women and their children.

1. Check out our website for our most needed items. Start a drive for them in your school or community. https://www.laurel-house.org/wish-list

2. Go through your closets and donate your gently-used clothing to one of our thrift shops:

Marian’s Attic –   255 Town Center Road (Valley Forge Shopping Center)
King of Prussia, PA  (610) 337-3068

Laurel’s Loft – 1801 N. Broad Street (Pennwood Plaza)
Lansdale PA 19446 (215) 398-6037

3.  Are all of your friends getting new cell phones? Well, collect the old ones! Laurel House accepts all used cell phones and ink cartridges so why not organize a collection? Ask your parents’ coworkers, friends at schools, teachers, etc. They are greatly appreciated here!

4. Volunteer in the office, stuffing and folding envelopes and other fun stuff!
