For my mitzvah project, I have become involved in an organization called Hats 4 The Homeless. I am collecting hats, gloves and scarves to give to the needy to stay warm in the cold winter months ahead. Hats 4 the Homeless grew out of the heart of one young man who cared about those less fortunate. He died suddenly in 1998. Hats 4 the Homeless was created in his memory to continue the tradition he started.
In addition, I have been volunteering for the Special Olympics of Montgomery County. I assist special needs children and adults to help prepare them for different sporting events. Through my volunteer efforts, I have learned how fortunate I am and how important it is to help those around you. I am touched by the sportsmanship and enthusiasm these athletes demonstrate. It is very rewarding for me to help both of these organizations.
