JCHAI (Judith Creed Homes for Adult Independence) is an AWARD-WINNING family of residential and community-based programs for people 18 and up with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. We create supported independent living in a person’s own home, their family’s home or in our supervised apartment program. JCHAI also provides vocational training, supported employment, counseling, social, educational and artistic self-expression with trips and social events. We offer Jewish programming but serve people of all faiths. JCHAI Café – a dynamic program for young adults with disabilities with fitness, arts, cooking and dinners, social and educational programs, a multimedia lab and off site cultural arts trips and classes.
For a mitzvah project:
1) Synagogue youth or adults may mentor, become a buddy, assist with classes or trips, and/or share a Shabbat dinner or another evening meal with our JCHAI members.

2) Your organization or synagogue can provide volunteer/job training opportunities for our JCHAI members and resident through our JCHAI Works Program. All are accompanied by our highly trained coaching staff. We do mailings, put folders and packets together, help set tables for luncheons and buffets, arrange chairs (but not heavy lifting), data entry, lawn care and planting. We assist with food preparation and service. It’s Win-Win!
