Mifalot – Education & Society Enterprises, the largest organization in the Middle East that uses sports as a vehicle to enhance children’s’ self-confidence and bring social change to their communities. Mifalot is based in Israel, and our beneficiaries include children and youth from all over Israel, the surrounding regions and around the globe.
Leveraging children’s universal passion for sports, our uniquely designed educational sports programs are created to teach essential life skills, develop an appreciation for diversity, embrace equality, and utilize community outreach to trigger social change. The beneficiaries of our many programs number over 25,000 annually in Israel alone and focus on helping specific communities such as at-risk youth and children with special needs.
Although Mifalot has been operating for almost 20 years, we recently launched a Mitzvah Project, whereby Bar/Bat Mitzvah children can get involved in the life-changing work of Mifalot. In addition to fundraising to sponsor a team or provide sports equipment and uniforms, mitzvah projects may involve the following:
- Twin with an Israeli athlete and correspond via video messages
- Film their own soccer practices and/or games and share with their “twin” how they play and learn the sport of soccer
- Create and maintain a Facebook page and post photos and content related to soccer, their favorite soccer teams and players and photos of their own team
