Preppy Chic Mitzvah

Oooh la la. Do you love Scout Bags? Then you are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE this Washington, DC classic event held at Bethesda Country Club. It includes some major eye candy & some rule breaking ideas that are going to completely inspire.

For this preppy chic mitzvah, iSparkleEvents partnered with Scout Bags to personalize the décor for two amazing girls. Our inspiration… custom Scout fabric patterns.

We choose two patterns from Scout’s Spring/Summer 2015 line in our colors of choice. First, a bright & fun ikat pattern in two shades of pink. The second, a navy and white that came alive with its broken stripe pattern.  A few months later the imported Scout material arrived at our front door. Then it was cut and sent off to DC Rentals & Edge Floral for some major fabrication.

To me, the word “preppy” conjures up images of Bermuda bags in all sorts of colors that come in patterns with alligators, whales and more. Enter the pugs & pink animals to add a touch of preppy fun to this super family’s day.

Guests walked the red carpet runway in front of the branded step & repeat. This where we brought in the “paps” to take photos of the guest arrivals when they hit their mark.

Flip to food were we did a complete twist on the timing. So, imagine you are at a Havdalah service that ends at 7:30 and you enter the party. Are you hungry? Why YES you are hungry!! That’s why I took an old trick from my LivingSocial days and we went with serving our famished guests an absolutely delicious dinner right away. After dinner it was party time with our DJ Glyde & his team – who absolutely loved the flip-flop we did with the timing.
With so many kids, we were able to offer up a ton of fun activities including Nailed It, flash tattoos and  skinned custom photo booth & backdrop.

To top off the festivities we again broke the “rules” and gave both the adults and the kids a choice of one of Scout’s classic bags — the Bagette – as a favor bag along with T-shirts & donuts to go.

For their mitzvah project the girls worked on organ transplant education and sign-ups. They trained to become to become Ambassadors for Donate Life. Donate Life is an organization which tries to promtoe awarenewss regarding organ donation. They both gave presentations at school and then did table-top exhibits at health fairs etc to educate people and sign up for organ donation.

A huge shout out to this incredible family who I love dearly, their grandma who handmade the kippot, & all the vendors that helped turn this vision into something truly memorable.
