Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, organizations and individuals, Homeless Bus heads into New York City every Saturday night, providing quick and easy simple food options, warm socks and personal sized toiletries to homeless individuals on the streets of New York City.

Just about anyone can donate to help Homeless Bus. The following groups or individuals are encouraged to hold drives, collections and fundraisers to help us:
•Individuals
•Families and friends
•Civic Organizations
•Religious Organizations
•Public and Private Schools
•Small Businesses
•Corporations

Items To Donate

• Non-Perishables Food Items:
– Nissin Cup Noodle soup (any variety)
– Maruchan Instant Lunch (any variety)
Please NO bags of ramen noodles needed
– Hot chocolate packets
– Bottled water & juice boxes
– Gatorade
– Peanut butter “to go” cups
– Individually packaged: applesauce, fruit cups,
pudding, cakes, cookies, peanuts & snacks

• Travel/Personal Size Toiletry Items:
– hand sanitizer or wipes
– hand lotion
– shampoo
– soap
– deodorant
– toothpaste & toothbrush
– mouthwash
– Chapstick, cough drops, razors

• New Men’s Accessories:
– socks
– gloves
– scarves
– hats

• Other:
– Backpacks
– Paper coffee cups (not Styrofoam)
– Plastic spoons
– Napkins

• Homemade Items/Perishables:
If you’re interested in donating perishable food items, please contact us to discuss what we need and to schedule delivery of these items, as they must be fresh.

Meet with your friends, groups and/or organizations to provide homebaked desserts or sandwiches. Items should be individually wrapped for easy distribution and made on Friday or Saturday only, so that these items will stay fresh for the Saturday night drop-off.

Donate Time

Due to liability issues, we are unable to permit people to ride on the bus with us, but here are some other ways you can donate your time:
•Pick up and deliver donations
•Help us prepare food packages (call us to find out when we need help)
•Follow the Homeless Bus into the city in your own car to get the experience!
