Bear Givers mitzvah program is an innovative non-profit dedicated to children in need. Our organization brings these children joy through the gift of a soft, cuddly teddy bear and empowers these youngsters to experience the joy and pride of giving to others. Through hospital visits and school programs, Bear Givers makes a difference in the lives of children and their families across the country and around the world. We have a variety of programs that we offer such as EmpowerArt which enables youngsters to give back through art, teddy bear clinics, as we know medical procedures and treatments can frightening and overwhelming for young patients. At hospital-based Teddy Bear Clinics, children are encouraged to perform mock medical procedures on and comfort their furry friends. As a result, pediatric patients feel more knowledgeable and relaxed about their own treatments.

The Bear Givers Mitzvah Program enables young people to perform charitable acts and give back as part of their Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations and it is a wonderful opportunity to take part in for their mitzvah project.  The family of the bar/bat mitzvah makes a donation to Bear Givers and receives teddy bears to donate to a charitable organization and to give as party favors to all guests. During the party, the bar/bat mitzvah and guests can decorate the teddy bears and make cards for the intended recipients. The young guest of honor donates teddy bears to an organization of his or her choosing. The teddy bears can be given in person or shipped. Bear givers can facilitate a personalized visit, if desired.
