In 2005, Pitch In For Baseball & Softball (PIFBS) was created with the purpose of collecting new and gently used equipment to redistribute to children around the globe enabling them to play ball.  Over the past decade, PIFBS has expanded programming and partners to help more than 800,000 boys and girls get on the field in every state in the U.S. and more than 100 countries internationally.

Pitch In For Baseball & Softball has had great success working with Bar and Bat Mitzvah students for their Mitzvah projects. With your mitzvah project, you can give back to the community and share your love for baseball/softball with children around the globe by running an equipment collection and/or running a fundraiser! You can find more information on their website, here. When running an equipment collection, know that PIFBS can accept any piece of baseball or softball equipment that is in safe, playable condition.  The gear they need most are baseballs, gloves (11”+), catcher’s gear, and softball equipment.

Each year, PIFB/S makes a donation of baseball and softball equipment to Israel. They work with the Israel Association of Baseball (IAB) who communicates their equipment needs to them. If the equipment you collect meets the needs of IAB, they are happy to put some of your donation aside for IAB to choose from.
