Since November 1, 2013, Kayla has been conducting a read-a-thon to raise money for Room to Read, a globally recognized charity that partners with local communities in the developing world to promote literacy and equal educational opportunity for girls. Two years ago, I started a Non-profit organization called eSmiles. It is devoted to collecting handheld electronics for children that are receiving treatment for long term illnesses. I collect the items, clean them up and deliver them to children so they can be entertained for a little bit of time while they are getting helped.  I am continuing this mission because I feel very fortunate to have all the wonderful electronics and so many other things in my life that keep me entertained and smiling. Project H.O.P.E. Helping Our People Everywhere. In its 20th year, Project HOPE delivers Kosher for Passover food on the Sunday before Passover, April 9, 2017, to 625 of our most needy, elderly and isolated Jewish families in the Philadelphia community. Many Jews who cannot afford special holiday foods depend on B’nai B’rith Project HOPE to provide matzoh and the other Passover staples.
